What you can list
A Discord server you have Manage Server on, or a bot you built or operate. One listing per server or bot. If you run several communities, list each of them separately rather than pointing several listings at one invite.
What comes down
- Invites that do not work. Expired, revoked, or leading somewhere other than what the listing describes.
- Blurbs that misdescribe the server. Keyword stuffing, a category the server plainly is not, or a description written to catch searches it does not serve.
- Adult content without an age gate. If the server is 18+, it must be marked as such and gated on the Discord side.
- Scams and their neighbours. Fake giveaways, account trading, cheat sales, anything selling access to stolen material.
- Servers organised around harassment of a person or a group, or around evading another platform ban.
- Vote manipulation. Alt accounts, vote-for-vote rings, or paying for votes. See bumping and votes.
Categories and tags
Pick the category the server genuinely belongs in. Miscategorised listings get moved rather than removed the first time, because it is usually a mistake rather than an attempt to game anything. Repeatedly re-categorising into a busier section is treated as gaming.
Tags are for search. Five is the maximum, and they should be words someone would actually type.
Verification
A verified badge means two things: someone with Manage Server confirmed ownership, and the server is currently active. That is all it means. It is not an endorsement, and it is not for sale. It is removed if a server goes dormant.
Enforcement
In order, and usually with a message first:
- Fix it. Most problems are a stale invite or a wrong category. You get told, and you get to correct it.
- Hidden. The listing stops appearing in the directory while it is wrong. It is not deleted.
- Removed. For scams, harassment and deliberate manipulation, without the earlier steps.
If you think a decision was wrong, say so. Name the listing and describe what you think happened.
